Money Tree Recordings was started on April14, 2021 in Atlanta, Ga. by founder: Christopher Williams or often known as DJ Money Tree.

 

The MTR label was founded on three key differentiators: innovation through technology, swift and deliberate acquisition and release process for artists and music libraries, while also highlighting artists from behind the wall.

 

The MTR team at its core has already demonstrated commercial success before its inception with its now coined ‘All The Smoke’ series that laid the foundation for a deep connection with the streets of Atlanta and connecting cities with hand to hand sales at festivals, pop-up concerts, events, Open Mics and more.  Its first major project was with recording artist: Julio Foolio and JBO DE LINGO club single “Ugh, Ugh” along with developing and producing artist Kina Mielle.

 

All The Smoke Vol. 11 “Live In The Trap” was created to be a staple for the MTR imprint as well as being a conduit for partnering A&Rs at major record labels for sorting, ranking and identifying talent in the urban areas of Detroit, Atlanta, Memphis, Boston, Houston, Baltimore, OKC, The Bay Area and abroad. All the smoke mix series will become a bridge for unknown artist and known artist to reach emerging markets in the global urban scene through MTRs growing network of DJs and tastemakers.

 

Tertiarily, MTR is creating a clear path of diversion from the streets and supplying the communities we entertain with opportunities in-front of the mic and open doors to those opportunities well beyond the stage from engineering to business development and marketing. The word “Trap” with MTR serves as a replacement for the word “Studio or place of business”. We seek to take the negative connotations out of the street culture and swing it to be positive as our culture has continuously done.
